… is my last day at UCT, which has been my home (at least in the work sense) for the last 4 years. Feeling a bit melancholy tonight, and touched by the kind messages of goodbye I’ve received in the last few days… but also exhausted from all the extra long hours of work that tying up loose ends involves.

And that’s why there has been no movement on my blog.

  1. Amy-Lynn – I am so relieved to hear that the book landed safely in Canada. I hope you will enjoy reading it – and planning a visit to South Africa. 😉

    Uninvoked – thank you! I’ve never been one for goodbyes, and the thought of handing over the reins at work to someone else (actually, it looks like there isn’t any ONE else, but several elses, which paradoxically does make me feel a little better) is a troubling one. Having taken *control* of so many aspects of administering a research group, letting go isn’t all that easy for the aul’ perfectionist in me. I’ll pop over to your blog to see what your loss and melancholy is all about.
