Last Friday, a long-expected and much-delayed visitor arrived from overseas. It took her about three weeks, to travel across the wide Atlantic Ocean from the snowbound frozen forests of Nova Scotia to the baking summer heat of South Africa.
We were sooo relieved that she had finally arrived! We thought she might have been kidnapped en route by a Moroccan motorcycle gang, or a bunch of West African pirates, or an excessively nosy post office employee!
So, dear friends and blog followers, may I introduce you to Flat Kathy:
She is, as I’ve discovered, quite a feisty lady with a wonderfully bubbly personality.
Within a couple of hours after landing at the local airport post office, she asked me to create her own blog for her: “I want to tell my own story,” she insisted.
Right. I can understand that.
So here is the link to Flat Kathy’s own blog at http://flatkathy.wordpress.com/, titled: “The Fantastical Voyages of Flat Kathy: Aspiring world-traveller Flat Kathy makes friends around the globe”.
Do visit it – you won’t be disappointed!
This will be interesting to follow Flat Kathy and what you will show her. Until now it all looks very inviting.
Yes, indeed, we are making a list of things to do together during her stay in Cape Town.
When her time here comes to an end, she will be looking for a new host family to visit. Would you perhaps be willing to show her around your part of Denmark, Birgitte?
Absolutely, Flat Kathy are very welcome here. 🙂
Ohh, I will tell her that! Thank you!
You realize that Flat Kathy is going to outstrip the rest of us with her exciting world travel blog. I bet she ends up getting “Fresh pressed”. Lovely job Reggie.
Thank you so much, Sybil – I am really pleased you find my “world travel blog” exciting. I do indeed hope to travel the world and to meet lots of wonderful people and see many marvelous places.
(Response from Reggie: Gosh, the pressure is on, Sybil. Flat Kathy isn’t the fastest typist, so I’ve been giving her a bit of a hand, or rather two. And wouldn’t it be fun if her blog *was* Freshly Pressed?!)
Am typing a blog right now sharing Flat Kathy’s new blog with my readers!
Ooooohh! That is so exciting!!! I shall tell Flat Kathy as soon as I can! (She is still with my friends at the moment…)
I’ll have to pop over and check out Flat Kathy’s blog. I did so love her distant relative’s book, Flat Stanley 🙂
They actually haven’t met yet, Paprika. I wonder whether they’d get on? And I wonder whether she’s also planning a book?
Maybe when they do meet they will get married and have lots of little flat babies that travel the world with them 🙂
LOL!
Flat Kathy went for a sleep-over with friends of ours, and it seems – the details are very sketchy – that she has had some plastic surgery. I’m sure there’s a tall dark and handsome doctor and a bottle of vino involved somewhere there, but I have not been able to extract the details from my friends… They keep citing ‘doctor-patient confidentiality’. I’ll just have to wait patiently for her return.
You’ll have to include some of her “after” photos when she finally returns to your custody.
How depressing for those of us who’ve been slaving away at our blogs for years when a newcomer has such immediate success. Ah well, good luck to you, FK!
Thanks, Richard. 😉 Mind you, she is a very nice person, so I can understand why people like her.
