The two swans

The two injured swans I blogged about yesterday have been captured by the combined efforts of the USPCA and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. See here. Thank goodness. Hopefully they’ll now get the medical care they need. And I hope they’ll recover fully from their ordeal and that they’ll soon be paddling along…

I’ve just read a heart-breaking story on the BBC’s Northern Ireland website about a pair of mute swans on the Lagan Canal near Lisburn that were shot with crossbows. Apparently, the female has a crossbow bolt stuck through her neck, while her mate has one…
