Sun-bathing kitty

My sun-worshipping snuggle-bunny always finds the perfect spot. She shifts, inch by inch, from shadow to light, as the sun arcs slowly across the sky. Her soft and silky belly fur absorbs the sun’s warmth, as her paws, retracting claws, curl gently and radiate her bliss.

Sigh…

The three of us watched the DVD of ‘Smart People’ tonight. That’s me and Tuffy-Cat curled up on the sofa. And Arachne here on the ceiling. The movie was great, and supper was delicious. But as you can imagine, one of us was distinctly apprehensive, and kept casting a wary eye towards the eight-legged creature…

Attack of the Tuffy Monster!

Life with Tuffy-Cat is very entertaining sometimes… especially when, after spending the entire day lazing about on the sofa, she is suddenly, inexplicably overcome by a burst of energy. This is what she looked like for pretty much the whole afternoon. And this is what happened in the evening, after she had a plate or…

Halfway through Day 4

Miss Tuffy-Cat was cornered on the bed this morning. She tried to make a break for it, as soon as we entered the room bearing the dreaded towel but, luckily for us, was still a little sleep-heavy. Reluctantly, she surrendered to the papoose-wrap and the icky medicine squirt, but then dashed outside at the earliest…

We walked in with towel and medication in hand, she sat up with a look of dread writ large on her face, our rescue angel wrapped the…

Day 3, Dose 1

Well, this morning’s dose was a near-disaster. For some unfathomable reason – perhaps because of a sneaking suspicion that another dose was imminent? – Tuffy was unwilling to remain inside the house this morning to await the arrival of the rescue angel with the magic towel. She was, however, willing to remain by my side,…

Day 2, Dose 2

After a seriously unproductive day on the work front because I felt so emotional and guilt-riddled after this morning’s ambush on my sleeping cat, I was not looking forward to a repeat performance this afternoon. This morning, after Tuffy had sprinted out of the house, it had taken me some veeeery long minutes to calm…

Day 2, Dose 1

Tuffy’s other mommy very kindly came over this morning to teach me the towel method of swaddling the cat so that her claws cannot do any damage. Well, that part at least worked well. It helped that Tuffkins was faaaast asleep, curled up adorably on the chair next to me. (As I have now ambushed…
