You may remember that, a month ago, our Rhus tree in the back garden was pruned very heavily. We’d been keeping a watchful eye out for new shoots, but nothing seemed to be happening, and I was starting to wonder whether we might perhaps have killed it.
However, a few days ago, pretty much on the 1st of September, which is, after all, the official start of Spring, we noticed that little green shoots were indeed starting to appear around the tops of the branches.
And our plane tree on the verge outside, which has been completely barren, leafless and seemingly lifeless throughout the winter, has also suddenly started to show signs of coming alive.
Look! Isn’t this just incredible?!
I love spring!
