In November last year, I’d written about the very humble beginnings of our vegetable garden. I’d sown some seeds for radish, carrots, cucumber and peppers in various parts of our backyard in the hope that we would no longer have to buy them at exorbitant prices in the local supermarket.
Unfortunately, the only seeds that produced anything remotely edible before the birds pulled out the barely germinated seedlings, the snails mowed them down and the local cats dug them up, were the radishes (check out these amazing specimen!).
So there go my dreams of becoming self-sufficient…. Well, it’ll take quite a bit more learning!
But, while we were mowing the lawn this morning, we saw that Mother Nature had worked a miracle and produced this perfect, beautifully proportioned cucumber!
Isn’t it exquisite?!
I wonder when we can harvest it?
