A weekend in the Olifants River mountains

At the end of February, we spent a long weekend on a pretty farm in the Olifants River mountains. It has taken me a while to go through all our photos and write up the story of our stay there, but all five posts are now finally ready to be launched.

Here they are, in chronogical order:

  1. Golden fields, rough roads, and a quaint cottage with cat
  2. Fabulous views, fragrant fynbos and starry skies
  3. Stone sentinels, abandoned cottages, and a delightful dam
  4. Heat haze, jeep tracks and a full moon braai
  5. The long way home via five mountain passes

I hope you enjoy reading them!

Thank you – DID enjoy reading them and looking at the photos. It has been *far* too long since I was in the Groot Winterhoek (or in fact anywhere in that area). Hearing about your holiday makes me want to plan a trip away!
Also, I really love the new row of photos along the top of your blog (header) – very nice selection.

I’m glad you enjoyed reading these posts. It really is a beautiful area of our country. Actually, there are LOTS of beautiful areas in South Africa! I think it’s time to plan another getaway.

I too like the new header. Now that I’ve figured out how to do it, I’ll be able to do more collages like that.
