Welcome to my World!
This blog grew out of a desire to share with others my enthusiasm for getting to know my neighbourhood and my city - and hopefully more parts of South Africa and beyond!
The Cape Peninsula is an extraordinarily beautiful place: we have an iconic world-famous mountain right in the heart of Cape Town, wonderful and easily accessible hiking trails all over the mountain, and a fascinating history, culture and society just waiting to be explored.
Hover your mouse over each of the menus (Exploring the Cape, Getaways, Hikes and Rambles, Travel, Home and Garden, Entertainment and Defence Reserves) to access archived posts in those categories.
Happy Browsing!

We’ve survived Day 6 of kitty-antibiotics
This morning, we successfully ambushed Tuffy in the back yard. Hubby picked her up, and I wrapped the towel around her neck and upper body, while he adjusted his grip on her wriggling body. I managed to prise her mouth … Continue reading

Tuffy explores a new exit route
Tuffy was in an exploratory, playful, and rather frisky mood early this morning. (That was before our visit to the vet.) She noticed that one of the windows in the bathroom was open, and so she decided to explore. I’d … Continue reading
